The Minnesota Gravestone Photo Project is a privately funded resource dedicated to providing free public access to gravestone photography. Our mission is to support the genealogy community, not profit from it. We will never sell photos, records, or your personal information to third parties. Every cent received through donations or advertising goes directly toward the costs of hosting, maintaining, and improving this site for everyone.
By uploading images and data, you grant the Minnesota Gravestone Photo Project the right to host and display those materials. To ensure the best experience for our visitors, we reserve the right to crop, enhance, or resize images as needed.
Once submitted, these records become a permanent part of our free public archive. Respecting copyright is vital: Please do not upload photos taken from other websites or sources without the express permission of the original owner.
We want family historians to have access to their ancestors' records. If you would like a copy of a photo for your personal research or family tree, please use the "photo request" link located on the record page to submit your request.
To protect the hard work and "digital rights" of our volunteer photographers, we ask that you follow these guidelines:
We love it when you share our site! When doing so, please link to the webpage where the photo lives (the full page on our site). Please do not place our images directly on your own website so that the photo loads and displays from our server — this is called hotlinking or embedding. That uses our server’s bandwidth every time someone views your page, which increases our costs and makes it harder to keep this free resource available for everyone. Simple text links or links to our pages are always welcome and appreciated.
